Intending to capture the Golden Gate Bridge on a cloudy, gray day, I went to Fort Baker at the northern end of the bridge with my monochrome camera. It was cloudy, all right, and rainy. So I sat in my car for about 45 minutes, reading on my phone, waiting for the rain to stop. But I could still take pictures …

When the rain stopped, I walked out onto a jetty to take the kind of photos I came for.

I met this man and his dog, Otis. He’s a photographer himself, so he was happy to pose with his dog.

This is a shot of a stormy sky, with Angel Island as an afterthought.

Same approach, this time using the SF skyline.

As I’ve read many times now, there’s no such thing as bad weather for photography.
