When I have my monochrome camera with me, I’m always on the lookout for good black and white subjects. Heading to a meeting in Marin County, I passed the Larkspur Ferry Terminal and thought, well, there’s one.
These photos were taken about 9 in the morning. I put an orange filter on my camera to darken the sky, and even accentuated that more in post. I also brightened the roof structure to stand out more against the sky.
I like this subject so much that I’ll try to photograph it at different times of day. In these shots, it was backlit by the morning sun. Maybe frontlit at the end of the day would also be good. I’ll find out next time I spend the day in Marin County and head home around sunset.
