For six weeks now, it hasn’t been possible to get out and do street photography, or really any kind of photography away from home. But a few days ago, a hiking trail near my house, which had been closed for weeks, was reopened. So, noticing photogenic cirrus clouds this morning, I walked part of the trail and took some photos of the clouds over the East Bay hills. Today was also a windy day, which blew the clouds around and created striking shapes.

I had a red filter on my lens for these, and even added more contrast in post. Too much? I don’t think so.  “If I want to see reality, I’ll look at it.” — John Shaw

The first image is a four-shot pano.

I’ve shot the scene below many times, often with hikers. Today, I wanted the focus to be on the clouds.

Still can’t do street photography, but at least I was able to get out and shoot something.
