Since I’m visiting La Jolla, I went to Scripps Beach to photograph the famous pier, and found a few other good street-photo-type subjects.

The view looking out to the ocean along the length of the pier is about as popular as Tunnel View in Yosemite—everyone takes this shot. Here’s my version:

I talked for a while with this surfer and took his portrait. I was able to send him the photos afterwards.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw these two boys running toward me as I was shooting something else. I got one frame of them that works.

The sky contributed a lot to the overall scene at sunset. Here’s what it looked like:

I’m in San Diego for a couple of weeks, so we’ll see what else I come across. There’s a fabulous Mormon Temple here, but it’s closed. Too bad, I could have added it to my images of the Oakland temple and started a collection.
